In honor of our 40th Anniversary, we would like to establish a merit scholarship for our juniors and seniors. Of course, we welcome support for graduate students as well.  With a contribution to one of our funds, you can help GWSS, and the transformative scholarship and education it fosters, thrive in the decades to come. Please consider making a gift today.

  • Friends of Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies Scholarship
    Gifts here will help us create a new scholarship for our undergraduates. 40 gifts of $40 would allow us to award 2 $800 scholarships this fall.  Awards will be based on merit & for short-term faculty-mentored research projects.

  • Hawthorne Hartung Women's Studies
    This fund provides unrestricted support for the department and enables us to sustain a lively intellectual culture for faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates through colloquia and speaker series. In addition to sponsoring a monthly speaker series, GWSS has inaugurated a colloquium, in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, on Gender, Sexuality, Power, and Politics.

  • Women’s Studies Social Justice Fund
    This fund offers annual grants to one Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies undergraduate and one graduate Feminist Studies major to further social justice projects. Students are encouraged to use the grant to plan activist-oriented programs (e.g. lectures, workshops, performances, etc.)

  • Susan Geiger Fund for Feminist Scholarship
    Provides a fellowship to graduate students to support their professional, scholarly, and creative development while collaborating with CLA faculty on scholarly research and creative activity. This fellowship encourages students to be full partners with faculty on projects of common interest that complement rather than duplicate the ongoing work of either partner. The project should also have a clear relationship to and advance progress towards completion of the student's graduate degree.

The Department of Women and Sexuality Studies is home to path-breaking feminist scholarship. GWSS faculty have made numerous distinguished contributions to the field and our graduates serve in some of the country's most prestigious departments.

Our outstanding faculty have received recognition from every professional association affiliated with our discipline as well as countless teaching awards. Our students mirror that excellence through their own research and study. Your gifts can help us build upon our impressive history.
