Background
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. My family still lives
in Oregon and I see them every chance I get. I miss grey clouds,
rain nine months out of the year, and the Pacific Ocean. I’ve
worked as a community activist, maintenance mechanic, catering
manager, and
barista (managed a coffee shop).
Those
are just the highlights of my professional career, before graduate
school. I’m a Netflix junkie and my down time is spent watching
television. Wicked is my favorite book (at the moment).

Favorite Course and Why?
GWSS 1003 - Women Write the World: Bright students who showed up
to class regularly, wrote amazing poetry and prose and were unafraid
to take risks. They challenged the instructor, me and each other
in classroom discussion. Nothing was taboo and they were respectful
of each other. I was always impressed by the level of attention
they gave in class and to the readings. Plus, they had a great
sense of humor.
GWSS 5103 – Feminist Pedagogy: I remember a lot of laughing.
I made wonderful connections with other students who were
interested in teaching. This class taught me great skills and activities
to use
in my own classroom.
